Baringa Private Hospital and Ramsay Surgical Centre Coffs Harbour Director of Clinical Services, Kelly Wright’s career is going from strength to strength thanks to the professional development opportunities offered at Ramsay.
After completing a Frontline Leadership Development Program in 2021, this month she has graduated from Ramsay’s Nurse Leaders of Tomorrow Program.
“I never considered management until working at Baringa. I can honestly say I do not believe I would be where I am professionally without the support of Ramsay executives and management. They continue to inspire me. I have found my professional journey challenging. Every day is a learning day,” said Kelly.
Kelly joined Ramsay six years ago as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit at Baringa Private Hospital. She then moved on to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatrics, followed by a Hospital Educator, Senior Nurse Educator, and now Director of Clinical Services.
“The DCS job is so multifaceted. I am ultimately responsible for the day-to-day management ensuring that we continue to provide exceptional care for our patients and their families.”
“Ramsay has inspired me in becoming the leader that I am today. I signed up for the Nurse Leaders program wanting to learn more. The visibility of senior executives and management has been pivotal in my career progression,” said Kelly.
“Culturally our leaders value each individual, our opinions matter and I believe Ramsay’s motto ‘People Caring for People’ has been fundamental in its ongoing success.”
“The program has been incredibly beneficial for networking. The great thing about Ramsay is there is always someone to reach out to if you are unsure about something. Being with likeminded people, learning and reflecting, the course has been absolutely amazing.”
When asked about her long-term goals, Kelly says that with Ramsay, the sky is the limit.
“I would have laughed if you had told me five years ago that I would be where I am professionally today. Who knows! With Ramsay the opportunities are endless. You just need a little bit of self-belief!”
Kelly recently graduated from the 2022/2023 cohort of the Nurse Leaders of Tomorrow program.
