Brigitte Sierak graduated from Ramsay’s two-year Global Graduate Programme last week, having gained invaluable corporate experience across the global Ramsay network and a clear direction for her career.

Brigitte has worked with Ramsay since February 2020, when she commenced as a Health Information Clerk at Warringal Private while completing her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Medical Classification) / Bachelor of Health Information Management.

In 2021 she transitioned to the Global Graduate Program, to help her to develop a clearer career direction and to grow both professionally and personally.

“The structure of the program and variety it offered sounded incredible along with the opportunity to work in one of Ramsay Health Care’s international locations – it was very exciting,” said Brigitte.

“My first rotation from September 2021 – June 2022 was in the global office in Investor Relations where I gained exposure to investor relations practices.”

“My second rotation was with Ramsay UK in their digital and technology function in the architecture team from July 2022 – February 2023 where I was responsible for creating a capability model for the business, mapping processes to digital and non-digital solutions and highlighting areas for improvement.

“My current and final rotation is at Greenslopes Private Hospital to gain operational experience where I have been involved in a variety of different projects from medical record format change to re-establishment of a hospital ward.”

While Brigitte knew she wanted to have a career in healthcare, she was unsure how she could make a positive impact on people’s life without directly being involved in patient care.

“As a graduate I’ve had an incredible opportunity to have one of the most dynamic roles in the organisation; involving a mix of learning, development and involvement in a various projects and teams.”

“The program has given me the belief that I am capable of contributing meaningfully to healthcare.”

Brigitte is currently in the process of confirming her next step in her career at Ramsay, with a long term goal of using her knowledge in health information management in digital transformation to see how we can leverage technology and optimise processes to improve healthcare.
