Thanks to a $3,000 Continuing Professional Development Scholarship, Nurse Unit Manager Christine Sayas and five of her colleagues were able to attend the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders Conference at the Gold Coast in August.

Since joining Ramsay Clinic Cremorne as a Nurse Unit Manager in 2019, Christine has taken advantage of a number of Ramsay’s professional development opportunities to help her build a rewarding career.

“I completed the Leadership Development Program (NSW) in 2019, followed by my Accredited Mental Health Professional Training,” said Christine.

“I also attended the NUM and MUM Leadership Day this year, before being awarded with a scholarship for myself and some team members to attend the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders Conference.”

“Ramsay has given me the opportunity to improve myself as a leader and following the conference I was able to implement some changes that were all beneficial for the service.”

In her current role, Christine manages the day to day running of the Eating Disorder Unit at Ramsay Clinic New Farm.

“My role includes managing staffing, bed meeting, multidisciplinary teams, training, coaching, mentoring and patient care.”

“The feeling of knowing you are able to help people is always my main driver for doing the job. Listening, communicating and showing that you care to your clients provides them reassurance that they are in the right place for their recovery and they are not doing it alone.”

“My favourite thing about working at Ramsay will always be the people that I work with. We are a family and we look after one another.”

Christine was awarded a Continuing Professional Development Scholarship (Team) worth $3000 through Ramsay’s 2023 National Scholarship Program.
